A hootsome gift: Owl Cufflinks

So I went out to dinner with Ron & Rozita a couple weeks ago and Ron asked about the owls. “Why owls?” he asked. I gave him our tagline, “wedding films about hoo you are.” He pauses. Rozita looks as if to say, “Don’t get started on her owls.” I tell Ron I’m not offended and would love to hear his thoughts on our new branding. I am always curious to see what people’s reactions are. So Ron proceeds to tell that he puts owls in the same category as clowns and mimes. Category: Things that spook him. LOL. Understandable. We had a pretty good laugh. So fast forward to their wedding day, Rozita tells me she can’t wait for him to open one of his gifts that she got him. We film Ron opening his gift and what is waiting inside that pretty little Neiman Marcus black box? Owl cufflinks! Ron laughed pretty hard — and so did we. A photographer then told me, “Well, when couples start buying gifts because of your company branding, good or bad, you know your branding made an impact.” A great point. So I guess we’ll continue hoo’ing along then! Have a hootsome day.

Charlaine & Zaw: Hoo Trailer from Pelican Hill

Sometimes you can just FEEL the love between a couple.  Charlaine & Zaw showed nothing short of that.  No one in their presence on Saturday could deny that two individuals are so in love, so compassionate, and so happy to be starting a new chapter in their lives together.  Friends and family gathered at the beautiful Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach for to witness their marriage ceremony and a wonderful Bermuse ceremony that followed.  Every detail looked gorgeous and it was an amazing day thanks to the amazing coordinators from Details Details.  We also worked next to Samuel Lippke all day, who’s an awesome and talented photographer.  Enjoy Charlaine & Zaw’s Trailer – you can feel the passion in every minute of this film.  Oh, and don’t miss the flying doves!

Anisha & Tom: Teaser Trailer from St. John’s Coptic Church & Pasadena Hilton

Anisha & Tom had a colorful set up for their long and beautiful day. After bridal preps, we headed to Pasadena City Hall for their first look and on to St. John’s Coptic Church for their ceremony. After the two tied the knot in front of many family and friends, we headed to Tom’s house for a few more traditions, where Tom’s dad was able to take part in the day. At last, we headed to the reception at the Pasadena Hilton and got the party started! It was an evening filled with amazing performances and great speeches that ended the night beautifully. Melissa & Kevin: Love Story + Trailer

Grab your wine glass and enjoy this majestic Hawaiian wedding under the tree at the beautiful Gainey Vineyards in Santa Barbara!  The day began under the tree — the tree of life — where Melissa and Kevin gave their hearts, souls, and sentimental vows to each other in front of family, friends, and gorgeous weather. We then had the opportunity to catch up with the newlyweds after their honeymoon to film a better-late-than-never Love Story. As it turns out, their story is just as beautiful as their Hawaiian wedding was. These two could not adore each other more. However, at first sight, this was not the case. Kevin wanted to date Melissa and she responded, “Oh no. Oh, no. Oh, no.” Kevin’s response was simple. He said to her, “I pray that Jesus removes the mud from your eyes.” And a year later, they were engaged. The two say they feel “divinely appointed to one another” and its clear that they are each other’s joy here on earth. And then, after you watch the film, go look at Melissa and Kevin’s gorgeous photos by the Chanson’s (same couple we worked with for Marah & Shawn’s Love Story).  Which brings me to another point… did I mention that Melissa is a wedding coordinator?  That’s right!  We’ve worked with her (Let’s Do This) many times and feel honored to be a part of her very own wedding day!  Anyway, Breanna wrote the most touching blog post on Melissa & Kevin!

Lindsay & Keaton: Playa Del Carmen, Mexico: Hoo Trailer

Under the beautiful skies of Playa Del Carmen, Lindsay and Keaton became one as they said their vows in front of family and close friends. On the balcony of PlayaCar Beach Palace Resort, the radiant couple reveled in their joy. The way Keaton’s eyes welled up as he saw his bride enter was so endearing, and the excitement on Lindsay’s face was undeniable. I know these two will lead a wonderful life together. Nayeli & Jon from Santa Barbara Zoo: Hoo Short

“Once in awhile, in a ordinary life, you get a fairytale” and Nayeli & Jon had just that at the Santa Barbara Zoo. As college sweethearts, Nayeli & Jon have had a long road to this gorgeous day, so family and friends were quite ready to celebrate! The joining of these two families was moving to watch, just as it was to watch Nayeli & Jon. This is one of my favorite places to film a wedding as they have the giraffe feeding, the lions, and the train ride all right next to the ceremony site. Although, when you are at the ceremony site, you completely forget that there are 500 animals all around! Nayeli lost her breath and needed a moment to gather her excitement before saying her vows. Sometimes it’s what you don’t say that says it all!

Sahar & Ryan from Calamigos Ranch: Hoo Short

It started out as a foggy day in Mailbu.  Then it got even foggier.  Luckily, it cleared out a bit for late evening ceremony.  And its a good thing kissing in the rain is considered romantic because it started raining in the evening and never stopped.  Rain, fog, whatever the circumstance, Sahar & Ryan embraced their day and made it their own.  The love and support of one another was quite obvious and had the power to melt all the distractions away so these two could enjoy their special day together.  Enjoy their Short Film from Calamigos Ranch!  Oh, and of course it’s important on the other hand, that WE enjoyed ourselves working side by side with two of our favorite photographers, Zoom Theory Photography.  ;)

Marah & Shawn: Love Story

It all started with the movie, Shrek.  Marah & Shawn met through mutual family and friends at a Christening for Shawn’s God Son and went on their first date — to see the movie Shrek.  Unfortunately, Marah lived in Texas while Shawn in California.  So they did the long distance thing until one day, Shawn put a ring on Marah’s finger while she was sleeping.  She woke up nothing less of shocked and excited and knew what the next step was.  She didn’t think twice, packed her bags and moved to California to be with the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with.  These two make such a cute couple…and lucky for all of us, we had an amazing sunset at Crystal Cove to work with.  Enjoy their beautiful Love Story on this Valentine’s Day!  And don’t forget to tell the people hoo you love how much you love them… owlways!!
